B.B. King Live Hologram
at Club Ebony
For B.B. King's 100th birthday, the B.B. King Museum commissioned a live hologram concert at Club Ebony, the historic Indianola, Mississippi venue where King himself had performed countless times. I technical directed the project end to end: designing a hologram system for one of the most challenging venues ever attempted for this effect, shooting a live musician and performing face replacement with B.B. King's likeness, compositing multiple VFX passes, and building show control and audio sync systems that let a live band play alongside a ghost. I installed and programmed all stage lighting for interactive effects that responded to the hologram in real time. We opened with an intimate premiere for B.B.'s family and friends to rave reviews, followed by a sold-out public show the next night. The result wasn't a screen on a stage. It was a ghost in the room.

I was blown away. I'll go as far to say if you didn't know… you wouldn't know. I watched and listened to find fault. None. Not one.
I've seen B.B. in Club Ebony live before, I've seen him a half dozen times, and believe me when I say this: it was every bit as entertaining. The crowd was into it, whistling, clapping, cheering, and you could feel the love. This show was worth every penny and a flawless production.
I sat there for a few minutes processing what I had seen and been a part of. If you get the chance, go see this for yourself.
